Frye’s Leap – The Images – 2
This image is the 2nd attempted at illustrating “The Images” on Frye’s Leap on Sebago Lake, Maine as accurately as possible. For generations before colonization, indigenous people created glyphs on the rocks at Frye’s Leap. While these images have faded and are largely unrecognizable today, they indicate a deep connection to the place for centuries before the arrival of Europeans. Some researchers believe these images were a form of communication with spirits in the rocks and water, suggesting a spiritual significance to the location. It’s created from old postcards from the early 1900s, photographs I took, and AI generated imagery. I really like this because I’m a history buff and it’s almost like someone’s photograph from the 1500s or 1600s.
